Unfortunately, delays are inevitable – there could be multiple reasons why such as weather, the vessel being re-routed and delays at certain ports.

What tracking system can D2D offer for shipment visibility?

D2D Global has a live system for shipment status via D2D Track – providing all shipment details and live tracking for sea and air shipments.

What are Incoterms?

They clarify who is responsible for costs and associated steps with the international transportation of goods.

What is the different between FCL and LCL ocean shipping?

FCL ocean shipping is loading your goods into a container that consists of only your cargo; this is for bulk orders that will fill majority of a 20 foot or 40 foot container.

 

LCL ocean shipping is loading your goods into a container in combination with other companies as the size of your cargo may only consist of a small number of items. Therefore you are sharing the space and only paying for the space your goods occupy.

What documents are required for international shipping?

Typically, there is Bill of Lading, Commercial Invoice, Packing List and Certificate of Origin. Depending on the destination and cargo type, additional documents like import permits or inspection certificates may be required. D2D Global staff can guide you through every step to ensure full compliance.

After the vessel arrives, when will I get my delivery?

For LCL shipments, usually within 5 business days.

For airfreight, usually with 1-2 business days.

 

All cargo deliveries are subject to final customs clearance and release.

How much is Import Duty and GST, and when are they applied?

Import Duty is charged as a percentage of the goods FOB value, whereas GST (10%) is charged on the CIF value plus the Duty price. There are also minor customs entry fees applicable that are based on the value of the goods being shipped. When the customs entry is created using the commercial invoice from the shipper/supplier, usually in a foreign currency, the rate of exchange is determined by the reserve bank rate at the time.
